My Skinny Jeans Are Tight!
Even my Spanx aren’t helping at this point.
Who am I kidding…I can’t manage to pull those torturous things up anymore.
Everywhere I go I have to stand…if I sit my poor button might give out sending my flab pouring out.
Have you ever tried to slyly stuff flab back into skinny jeans?
It’s not possible.
Time for me to lose some weight…again. I had gotten back down to my pre-baby size but recently packed on the pounds. Now I am post-baby size.
But it’s really not my fault. I swear.
My doctor, in his infinite wisdom, decided to switch up my sleeping meds (I’m an insomniac) to help with my headaches. (I get migraines. Major visual impairing migraines.)
The new meds seemed to help. I slept great, had less migraines but I gained 25 pounds in less than 3 months! There were 2 separate weeks when I gained 5 pounds each week. No matter what I did they just kept coming. Exercising, eating right, supplements… powerless against these evil little bast***s.
So I had a choice, stay on the meds & keep packing on the pounds.
Go back to my old meds & back to the migraines.
Hard decision. It really was.
In the end I went back to the old meds but have since switched to something new that seems to be working ok for all my issues & I am not seeing the weight gain really. So now that I have that figured out I am ready to tackle losing weight.
Enter the Diet Bet.
Here’s how it works:
You join the game, and pay $25 into the pot. The goal is to lose 4% of your body weight in 4 weeks so you get $$ back. How much depends on how many people lose at least 4%. And 4% should be doable, it isn’t really much weight. For example, if you weigh 150lbs then you just need to lose 6lbs total during the 4 weeks. I also like that it’s a healthy target.
The other thing I like about it that turning it into a competition will keep me on track. It will motivate me to say no to the cookies and Coke. It will also keep me accountable. When money is on the line shiz gets serious!
I also like that it is just 4 weeks. It’s long enough to see a difference but short enough to keep it fun. And those who have more weight to lose can just go for another 4 weeks! And I definitely have more than 4% of my starting weight to lose…damn medicine.
So you probably have questions. They have an FAQ with all kinds of good info on it but here are a few of the common ones.
Will anyone see my weight? - The answer is NO. You can hide your weight and people will only get to see your progress. (ie - Jen has achieved 35% of her goal for this month. #BOOM!)
How do we make sure no one cheats? - The answer is: Diet Bet makes you send a photo of the number on the scale, your starting weight, and a before photo. If they suspect ANY suspicious activity at the end of the game you will be disqualified and will not win any of the $$. And we will call you a liar liar pants on fire. Oh the shame!
How do we get paid? - If you are a winner, you can request a payout via PayPal, or by check. Cha-ching!
